Fees and Medicare
Consultation fees are payable directly to the practice and you can claim Medicare benefits for most eye examinations. Our staff will process your Medicare rebate claims on-the-spot. Bulk billed eye tests are available for children and special entitlements are available to patients covered by Veterans Affairs.

There are some additional fees for services and tests that are not covered by Medicare or Private Health Funds. Our staff will be pleased to explain these fees.

Private Health Funds and Rebates
Private health funds provide rebates for spectacles, sunglasses and contact lenses, depending on your type and level of cover. They normally pay a minimum of $140.00 towards spectacles and prescription sunglasses during a 12 month period (usually January to December). Our staff will assist with claims and process HiCaps® instant rebates for all funds.
Make sure you get your money’s worth, because unclaimed optical health fund benefits don’t roll over into next year. Squeeze every last drop from your Private Health Optical Extras before the end of the year.
With all this talk about private health funds, we also want to reassure you that you are welcome at our practice regardless of whether or not you are covered by private health.
