Glaucoma sneaks up on you. It doesn’t hurt and it doesn’t cause sudden vision loss.

Side (peripheral) vision deteriorates before central vision, so you might not notice the condition for a long time. But the increased pressure in your eye damages the optic nerve and can ultimately cause blindness.

Glaucoma. You’ll never see it coming. But your optometrist will.

The good news is that if glaucoma is detected early it can be readily treated.

Half of the 300,000 Australians with glaucoma are unaware they have it. If you have a direct family member with glaucoma then you are 10 times more likely to have it too. The only way to know if you have this condition is to see an optometrist or ophthalmologist for a comprehensive examination.

So if you are aged 40+ and have a family history of glaucoma, or are aged 50+ with no family history, book a potentially sight-saving eye test now.
